Group music therapy
Group music therapy provides a welcoming opportunity to work toward your goals and create meaningful relationships through shared experiences with others who are gaining trust and being vulnerable with you. Research proves that music is one of the most affirming mediums to lower stress, feel connected, and expressing yourself (without even having to say a word!).
Regardless of your personal goals or the group goals, sessions come with built in opportunities for social connection, emotional support, communication and shared processing. I've had the privilege of witnessing these result in gained confidence, learning from others, and heightened motivation.
Similar to individual music therapy, the group might engage in active music making and improvisation, song writing and re-writing, lyric analysis and music assisted relaxation.

"Making eye contact felt good. I feel like we were more of a band that time instead of just playing the drums"

"This song used to get me out of bed everyday and I haven't thought about listening to it until you gave me the opportunity. Thank you for getting me out of isolation."
